Dela Community Development Initiative (DCDI) is a registered community-based organization in Northern Uganda, Kitgum District. We work directly with children and youth to promote positive growth through education, music, Dance, Poetry and community engagement.
Our work is rooted in the Acholi sub-region, where many communities continue to recover from the long-term effects of conflict, including poverty and limited access to opportunities for young people.

Meet Our Leadership Team
Ochola Micheal
Founder & Chairperson
Founder of DELA Community Development Initiative and leader of DELA Kids Choir. Passionate about empowering children and communities through music, creativity, education, peacebuilding, and talent development. Provides overall leadership and vision for the organization’s programs and community activities.
Achayo Concy
Assistant Chairperson & Children’s Welfare Coordinator
Supports the leadership of the organization and helps oversee children’s welfare and wellbeing. Dedicated to creating a safe, caring, and supportive environment for children participating in choir and community activities.
Aneno Patricia – Treasurer
Aneno Patricia is the Treasurer of Dela Community Development initiative. She supports the Activities by managing financial coordination and helping ensure resources are used responsibly to support children’s talent development, welfare, and community activities. Patricia is passionate about creating a positive and safe environment where children can grow through music, culture, and teamwork.
Adong Gloria
Choir Trainer & Life Skills Mentor
Trains and guides the choir in singing, discipline, teamwork, and performance. Also teaches life lessons and Bible memory sessions that help children develop good values, respect, confidence, and positive character.
Anena Sharon
Volunteer Traditional Dance Instructor
Volunteers in teaching traditional dance and cultural performance skills to children. Helps preserve cultural heritage while encouraging teamwork, confidence, creativity, and cultural pride among young people.

Dela Community Development Initiative was formed out of a desire to respond to real challenges faced by children and families in our community. What started as a small effort to bring children together through music, Dance and Poetry has grown into a broader initiative supporting youth development and community engagement.
We continue to grow step by step, guided by the needs and strengths of the people we serve.
We are a registered Community-Based Organization (CBO) operating at the community level in Northern Uganda Kitgum municipality, Kitgum District.
